Setup & Care

Getting started

Setup takes about a minute. A little care keeps wood and printed parts looking right for years.

Setup

  1. Route cables

Route the plug end of the cable through the face of the dock and down through the body.

  2. Seat your MagSafe charger

Press the charger face-out into the round recess until it sits flush. The fit is snug on purpose, so firm, even pressure is normal.

  3. Secure the cable

Guide the cable along the channel on the back or underside so the dock sits flat on your desk.

  4. Put your best foot forward

If the feet on your dock weren’t pre-installed, go ahead and do it now. Some docks ship with an option of non-slip feet or adhesive strips.

  5. Plug in and test

Use a 20W or higher USB-C power adapter for full-speed MagSafe charging. Place your phone and look for the charging indicator.

  6. Enjoy your charge.

Phone case? MagSafe-compatible cases work best. Thick or non-magnetic cases can weaken the hold and slow charging.

Care

Wood

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. For smudges, use a barely damp cloth and dry right away.

3D-printed parts

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid solvents and alcohol, which can dull the surface.

Keep it out of hot cars. Printed parts can soften and warp in extreme heat, and an Arizona dashboard in summer gets hot enough to do it. Direct sun on a windowsill is also worth avoiding.
